I was riding a jeep on a very familiar road; one that I’ve traveled countless times in the past. There were a lot of new things that caught my eye. Sure signs that yes, 10 long years have passed since I last visited my University stomping grounds. This is where I met my wife (but that’s another story) as well us hordes of other curious characters who became my professors, kapwa ikolar ng bayan, and friends. I wondered if I would still be able to find the people I needed that Friday with nary the benefit of an advisory. Sadly, except for friendster I’ve lost track of most of them. These people have colored my life so brilliantly. I owed much of the good life my family in now enjoying to them. I was there wondering if my professor’s would still remember or recognize who I was. (50 pounds heavier - Now you see the challenge!) Would they be willing to help me inspite of my obvious lack of friendly correspondence. Nakakahiya! But I was desperate and would rely on my long held belief about the goodness of man and its requisite benefits…..Sana may pumansin sa akin dito….Walking around the campus I realized how it felt to be the odd man out. Pag lahat naman ng nakakasalubong mo e mukhang tingting at ikaw ay mukhang lobo then something’s not right about this picture! A letter of recommendation, that’s all I need. HELP!!!!!!!!! God, do I really need to go thru another humbling experience of waiting for one whole day just to get this? God replied; No such luck kiddo!…It’s gonna take you two working days…,,,to get two letters of recommendation for grad. school and a ton of short stories for your friendster account. Thank God it’s Friday! at
